Online Yoga School and Yoga & Ayurveda Center's Online Yoga Teacher Training: Student Review

Online Yoga School's  Online Yoga Teacher Training Review, RYT-200 Program, 300 Hour, Yoga & Ayurveda Center

Online Yoga School is the brand name for Yoga & Ayurveda Center, the local studio.  This Yoga Alliance-registered online yoga teacher training program is by far the most bang for your buck.  The warm vibe of the lead trainer and staff, combined with the international online community also draw in many yoga teachers.

Presentation of Content:  Online Yoga School's Online Yoga Teacher Training Review, RYT-200,200, Yoga & Ayurveda Center

Online Yoga School uses a learning management software for their online 200 our yoga teacher training program.    We aren't sure which LMS they use.  It isn't teachable, but whatever they're using, it works well.  All of the mandatory material is located on your dashboard and is completely self-paced.

The training material is well organized and laid out in a way that makes sense.  The software is easy to use, compatible on any device.

Weekly webinars are uploaded that answer all of our questions, as students.  This is helpful and fosters a sense of true connection with the lead trainer.   It also gives a "live" feel to the training because she is answering our questions as they come verses just creating an online course that provides a passive income like many of the other training programs.

There are live zoom sessions weekly that are optional.  It gives students the chance to practice teaching yoga and receive feedback from the instructor and others in the community.  I found these to be very helpful.

Curriculum:  Online Yoga School's Online Yoga Teacher Training Review, RYT-200, 300, Yoga & Ayurveda Center

The curriculum is very special.  Online Yoga School's online yoga teacher training curriculum is extensive, original and quite helpful.  It covers a vast array of topics and goes much deeper than the other 200 hour online yoga teacher training programs I've reviewed.  It isn't just generic information that has been carefully reworded like most of the programs, but it is authentic teachings with stories from the instructor's real life that demonstrate application of theory.  This makes it very easy to grasp the concepts.

The philosophy portion of the training was more detailed than any of the other trainings.  There is a ton of information and I found it helpful.  There is a big emphasis on self-care and maintaining a personal practice in the following module.

Anatomy is next and I enjoyed the detailed anatomy training with an anatomy expert who has published anatomy books for yoga teachers.

The training covers over 100 asanas, which was more than any other online yoga teacher training.  It also has a detailed sequencing module that was very helpful.

There are also modules on safety, understanding that all bodies are unique, the esoteric body, chanting, pranayama, Sanskrit, teaching methodology, adjustments and yoga as a business.

Ongoing Support & Online Community:  Online Yoga School's Online Yoga Teacher Training Review, RYT-200, 300, Yoga & Ayurveda Center

One of the things that sticks out about this training is the strong, vibrant community and the ongoing support.  The community alone has changed my life.  I've met people from all over the world and made friendships that will last a lifetime.  We all support each other and chat daily online.

There is also significant ongoing support with this training, which is one of the reasons why Online Yoga School and Yoga & Ayurveda Center's 200 hour online yoga teacher training is rated #1 for me. You have lifelong access to the material, and they send weekly emails that give playlists, quotes you can use in your yoga classes, yoga pose breakdowns and sequences.  It's really helpful.

I enrolled in this training in 2019 and called Steph during the pandemic to discuss a problem I'm having with Warrior III.  She talked to me for 15 minutes and followed up on email to see how the advice worked for me.  I'm able to talk to the manager, Vanessa, in the online community.  And I got my anatomy questions answered by Alecia after graduation.  I appreciate this type of support.

Certificate: Online Yoga School's Online Yoga Teacher Training Review, RYT-200, 300, Yoga & Ayurveda Center

Once I completed the training, I received a pdf file with a certificate that I was able to immediately download.   I also received a really nice certificate (like the one pictured above) in the mail. Neither certificate indicates that the training was taken online.  Some people in the community were worried about that, although I am comfortable with online learning.

Instructor and Staff:  Online Yoga School's Online Yoga Teacher Training Review, RYT-200, 300, Yoga. & Ayurveda Center

The lead instructor is Steph.  I can run down her resume, but that isn't what I think is the most important thing.  She is a 500 hour registered and experienced teacher.  She is also a registered prenatal teacher and a registered children's yoga teacher.  She is certified as a pelvic yoga teacher.  She is so real and that's what I love about her.  She is very warm, relatable and genuinely cares about all of us in the community.  I love that she isn't ego-driven and she loves discussing yoga philosophy. She brings a mix of warmth and professionalism, and it makes the training pleasant.

Khloe is her daughter, and Khloe is the manager of billing and administrative related things.  Khloe is also very likeable and professional.

Alecia is the anatomy expert and she is very knowledgeable.  She is professional and if she doesn't have the answer, she will research and get back to us.  I like Alecia a lot too.  She made anatomy possible for me, and that is something I appreciate.  She is also a massage therapist and a registered yoga teacher so she has a lot of relevant knowledge.  Alecia does the anatomical pose breakdowns every week and I look forward to receiving those.  She also writes a new monthly sequence and sends us videos every week, which I appreciate.

Vanessa is another manager who handles questions about the courses.  She is very knowledgeable and helpful.  She also manages the Facebook group so that we all have a place to connect with each other.   I like Vanessa a lot and she gets back to us very quickly.

Steve, Haley, Selina and Karen help Steph out with zoom sessions for us to practice teaching yoga.  They give encouraging feedback and are very responsible and reliable.  They all have a different vibe and I enjoy working with them all.

The support staff is very responsive in general.  I know Steph's mom and her son also help out behind the scenes.  Her husband is involved too.  When there were fewer trainees, it was just Steph doing it all but now she tells us "it takes a village."
